Archive for the Internet Explorer Category

This weekend was the first time I saw more Firefox Browsers hitting my web site than Internet Explorer. I do nothing to promote either one nor t’other. I attempt to have my web pages looking the same in either too.

This last 6 to 9 months has slowly seen the rise of Firefox users over IExplorer users.

Myself, I’ve taken to using Firefox - not exclusively yet tho’ - for 3 reasons :

  1. Internet Explorer seems either unwilling or unable - or something else - to interpret CSS correctly. Long gone are the days when the commoners sensed that all other Browsers were “stripped down”!
  2. I use 2 monitors to make up for the consistent and constant hinderences that Internet Explorer places in the way to my productivity. Yes, I’m sure I want this Active X control to run; Yes, I’m sure I want the Phishing Filter turned off; and Yes, I’m sure I’m sure that I want to download that useful and productive file that I just saw somewhere other than on an MS website. Oh Yes, don’t forget to turn your Internet Explorer 7.0 Menu Bar on either. Trust me. That’ll help!
  3. The sheer amount of valuable, creative and productive add-ins written for Firefox constantly enable a much richer and healthier web experience. More colors, more variety, more productivity and more choices are the benefits that come to immediate mind.

I hate to follow “groovy” and contemporary trends but…I s’pose that one day soon I’ll be hitting the little check box that nags and whines: “…..are you sure I can’t be your default Browser?…” or something like that anyways.

Stay tooned.
